the phone

It all happened when my family decided they wanted to switch cell phone providers…

The idea of switching cell phone service providers pained me, as we’ve had tmobile for such a long time. It’s been nearly 10 years. Through thick and thin, hell and high water, tmobile was there. It’s been a tmobile phone that has graced my pockets for a decade. It’s been tmobile radiation that has pulsed through my brain whenever the phone was to my ear. It was a tmobile phone that I either broke or lost time after time after time, forcing me to use my go-to-when-all-else-fails staple that is the nokia 3390. (green screen, snake, kick ringtone) I’ve probably been through at least 10 phones under the tmobile banner. Misplacements, mini-golf, high school theater, skateboarding, the list goes on Needless to say, the thought of switching services felt as though I were throwing a best friend to the ground, and kicking dirt in their face.

“Forget our history. Our past. Our bond. I’m through with you. I’ve got cooler friends now. Much cooler. Farewell.”

To be continued…
