breakfast

Posted in practical by Benjamin Toalston on August 6, 2008

I enjoy making breakfast for myself, and am interested in different ways of preparing breakfast.  I may post some pictures here of some breakfasts I’ve made recently, but we’ll see.  Is that weird?  To take photos of the food that you’ve made? “Not if you want to share with Mom or other people what you’ve done!”, I told myself.  And so it is.  What are some of your favorite ways to make eggs?  Please leave instructions, so I can try it!

in the depths of my dads unfinshed basement there sits a shoebox overflowing with pictures of food. countless thanksgiving and christmas dinners, smoking grills, steaming plates of fried im-not-sure-what and more bbq chicken than you can shake a stick at. and me, age 7 in my jammies barely able to reach the stovetop stirring the biggest pot of homemade chili youve ever seen. youre not weird.

i like scrambled eggs with a spoonful of chunky salsa and some montery jack cheese. grab a piece of toast and a cuppa tea and youre all set! soooo goooood!

i like salsa eggs, too… salsa just goes with everything these days. ah, pregnancy.

i also like fully cooking hashbrowns (southern style or shreds), bell pepper strips, and onions and then dumping some beaten eggs (maybe two or three) over top of it and just scrambling it all together, then sprinkling mexi cheese on top before serving. this method also works with spinach and tomatoes/mushrooms and feta cheese, or anything else that suits your fancy.

i pretty much only eat scrambled eggs. and omelets. lame, i know, but i don’t like my eggs to move after they’ve sat in a skillet. and i don’t like poking them and having them puke yolk at me. gross.

i’m looking forward to food pictures! i actually quite enjoy looking at what other people come up with in the food department. yes.
